Polly Pocket was a line of miniature dolls that were first released in the late 80's. They were unique because of their super small size, and named because the first versions were actually able to fit in your pocket. The line has gone through many changes over the years, but there was something really special about the original releases. The dolls were very cute and their compact environments were detailed and offered a lot of play value. I haven't really followed Polly Pocket's evolution, but from what I've seen she sort of lost something when they changed her size because that was what separated her from other toys.
We had a small collection of Polly Pockets growing up which included several of the small lockets and a few of the larger playsets. My favorites were the ones that included animals because they were really adorable and fun to play with. I also really like the Starlight Castle set, which we each received for Christmas one year. It was special because it lit up and I love the little prince, princess, and the whole look of the scene with the castle at night. I don’t have a lot of memories of playing with these dolls, but I am glad we hung onto all of the ones that we had because they still remind me of the time when we were collecting them. Toys from the 80's and 90's are so nostalgic to me and I always enjoy looking at them.
